so named because of its monotous "kooo-EL" cry.... which he does over... and over... and over... from right about sunrise and into the night...looking for a mate. he stays pretty stationary while he does this. and this time, he chose the house. these are photos of him in the palm tree right outside the bedroom window. the Koel is related to the cuckoo bird... the longtail cuckoo...
